Paragraphs made great progress with a new widget that will soon no longer be experimental.
We improved the backend UX majorly by following patterns of Core with introducing a few minimal new patterns.
We started the discussion to offer an alternative UI long ago with collecting various approaches of various site builders and technologies.
Recently people started various frontend editing prototypes, many decoupled agency inhouse or custom solutions on a decoupled approach. And there are many modules that improve the editing experience with multiple adaptions.
Core progressed to a point to back a decoupled editing experience much better and we have many new tools in the box that we don't support yet.
