User interface texts are all those words that users see when they interact with a Drupal siteĀ and they are an important factor in the user experience. So it is time we got a UI text standard, that would make it easier to write good UI texts.
UI texts are all those words that users see when they interact with a Drupal site - from buttons and page titles to help texts on admin pages - and they are an important factor in the user experience, especially for new users.
But while we develop Drupal core and contrib, we treat them as an after-thought - with less guidance then we for example to comments in code in the coding standards.
And at the same time many people are writing whole books to document how to use Drupal.
How can we improve that?
1. The state of things: Some examples and an overview over the very little guidance we have.
2. UI text standards: A draft proposal for UI text standards taking into account coding standards and experience with that.
3. How can we get users and documentors to contribute directly to writing/improving UI texts?
